Bliss Poem by M.L. Bennett

Bliss

Rating: 5.0

Make me a promise
Swear me a vow
Tell me it'll all be fine somehow
I'm in it for all
Or I want none
I heard it's the chase that's supposed to be fun

Sing me a lullaby
I'll be your slave
Gently tuck me into my grave
Smile on my face
Blind me with bliss
I'll look the other way all for your kiss

You're the song my heart beats to
The words my soul hums

You gave me life again
The place I want to be
Funny how I don't care
You're also the death of me

I'll love you forever
I swear that I'll stay
No matter how I try
I can't walk away
Resigned to my fate
March to your drum
I reach for your love
I savor my crumb

Build me a pyre
Call it our home
I could care less
Just don't leave me alone
Hold me an hour
Kiss me a day
I'll hold you to me til you hold me away

You're the song my heart beats to
The words my soul hums

You gave me life again
The place I want to be
Funny how I don't care
You're also the death of me
