Bloody Winter Poem by victoria martinez

Bloody Winter

It snows
And we lay our bodies in it
Imprints of angels
.
My wrist it’s small
The blade it’s thin
My pain it’s beckoning
.
Those thoughts
I become lost in them
And the razor gives me a kiss
.
Kissing my wrist with a smooth slit
Back and forth
2,5,10 I lost count
.
It snowed
It was imprinted with my blood
The ice clotted my wound
.
Winter wasn’t white
Winter was a dark red
Blood of only memories I wanted to get rid of
.
Winter that time of year
When I lay my body in the snow
And bleed into the New Year
