Blooming Fragrance Poem by Binoy Barman

Blooming Fragrance

The eyes of night was a pair of full moons
Sitting by the gloom with blooming fragrance
Black hole shedding stream of light lavishly
All words on earth inundated heavenly trance.

You cannot call it terrestrial or extraterrestrial
Its sublimity is not bound by everyday sense
A moment wanted to touch another moment
In their dream of death, in their big absence.

They were so close with wide gap between them
Some unsung music was playing in the air
Some undrawn picture was hanging on the wall
Happy or unhappy, amid negligence or care.

Such occasions come rare in human life
When two sighs from two worlds unite
When the possibility sings impossible song
In the chemistry of prehistoric night.

The rustle of leaves is more intense than storm
The sparkle of dew is more glaring than sun
Everything in this world will perish one day
Except the heart of gloom, the regret of fun.

At last I find the truth, which says
You do not belong to me
And I do not belong to you
That is the final word, of nights and days.
