Blowing Smoke Poem by adam reed

Blowing Smoke

Rating: 3.5

When your on fire, everything is well
when you calm down
is when love puts you under its spell
and when it ends, you fade
time is wasted waiting for love to find you again
and going out and looking for it is all the same
you need to relight the fire ablaze
the saddest thing is a life wasted
and now, its that fire i crave
as much as ive craved the love my heart has tasted
im not ash yet
i am still but embers
waiting, fading but with the occasional spark of a flame
awake just enough to hear my own name
why..why cant i be someone who burns free
when oh when will these flames leap out of me
and when will my poem not sound like the last
im tired of blowing smoke out my..well u know

Cool take on the torment of waiting and wishing for love....we poets are known for our hopeless (hopeful) romantic qualities. Believe there is love just around the bend. I continue to do the same PEACE
