Blue! Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Tonight I see your eyes in the dark as blue
I feel your arms and the veins
The blood seems to run fast like drains
It makes your skin turn lively and the colour is blue

There are rings, round and round in violet blue
A strong passion between us and the energy drains
And this feeling is so intense running through the veins
All I want now is a song in rhythm and blue

Though the sky is so dark, I can some lines in blue
Sensations of this strength can, by accident, cut some veins
So, let us hold them down, else they run through the drains
We may end up with our garments turning blue

I am here and in your arms; already turned blue
Seasons come and go, this one is not meant for the drains
I am trembling and the blood is very turgid in the veins
Let us make up and hope to remember it in colour blue
