You were happy once...
Carefree, not a worry in sight...
Then it happened...
Out of the blue it came to you...
You were curious and touched it...
And it gripped you as you had never been gripped before...

Your life was full of happiness..
Your soul soared with such delight...
Then it happened...

Out of the blue it was gone...
Ripped from the very depths it had itself created...
And you were empty, emptier than you had ever been before...

And you were sad...
Tears filled the eyes that once sparkled with such joy...
And your soul was left with a hole you had near felt before...

Sadness rules your world now...
You retreat to the memories of when you were happy and carefree...
Afraid of what might touch your life now...
Afraid to have anything come close again...
Afraid to experience such joy...
For fear of it being taken away...
Just as quickly as it came...
