Blue Dragonfly Poem by Paul Holmes

Blue Dragonfly

A streak of blue lightning
Across a babbling brook
Takes me unawares
That moment that I look
Past pastures of green
And dandelions of gold,
My attention is fixed
On this insect so bold.

Hovering in a mid-air blur
Above a flower’s heart
Its acrobatic antics
Amaze me with a start!
Then, just as suddenly
It zooms off at such a pace
That it would leave me breathless
If I ran that fast in a race!

Fascinating creatures to watch, I agree, and again their colours are so beautiful to spy. Lovely imagery quoted here.
