Born To Die Poem by Francis Duggan

Born To Die

Rating: 0.5

The billions of insects that wriggle, fly or crawl
The billions of creatures from the great to the small
The billions of fishes of sea and waterway
The creatures of night and the creatures of day
The birds of the World many travel by sky
Though not everyone of them born to fly
With us humans one thing in common do share
Of which it does seem only we are aware
Since we know a little about destiny
And we are aware of our mortality
And since our wonder of Nature it only does grow
Of their intelligence or lack of it we are not to know
But the facts tell us so and facts never lie
That like us they are mortals and born to die.
