Born To Fly Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Born To Fly

Man’s flesh and bone is much impaired
Through festering sin inside
Heading for a place prepared
Beyond the great divide

We’ve heard about our journey’s end
The stories people tell
Without God’s Lamb as Lord and friend
We’re heading straight to hell

If this is true and God is real
If wise we think to be
To God we quickly should appeal
To set our soul now free

Am I a fool to sit and wait?
So dull in sin to die
Will Jesus love procrastinate?
If I would seek on high

By Heaven’s grace I’ve seen The Light
The Truth’s revealed first hand
Repentant through a heart contrite
I see The Promised Land

I see for man God’s plan laid bare
His blessed life restored
The glory Heaven has to share
For all who love The Lord

I see the wickedness of man
The Father’s heart revealed
His love and His eternal plan
For those His Christ has healed

Now born to live, destined to die
Ordained to rise above
Through Jesus’ blood I’m born to fly
Into the arms of love
