Borrowing From God Poem by Robert Longley

Borrowing From God

A flame in final flicker
A rose in final bloom
These images of beauty
Can brighten any room

It’s life there at it’s fullest
We see the finest light
As ending brings new meaning
And day turns into night

If only it would linger
And last another day
But so is nature’s beauty
It’s there and fades away

But when they’re gone there’s sadness
A sense of loss and lack
But they were only borrowed
And now God needs them back
