Came back and read this piece again. It lays it out there without any sense at all of look at me- pity me. Instead it says look at you- you can survive it too. The structure of this poem gives it stature, dignity, strength. Thank you for sharing this. May those in need read it and gain strength, dignity, and stature in themselves. (Report) Reply

A touching work Dave, no child should ever bare that kind of weight, but you endeared it and have become a great caring man, your mother would be proud, you bare your soul in this one, and for that it makes a memorable read. Congratulations for poem of the day well deserved! (Report) Reply

Even if we don't under why mothers cry sometimes, we feel the pain in their voices as they cry. Great lessons to all men, their children will grow up. God bless you_man. (Report) Reply

    To stop my mothers cries

I still look back with sadness
But I can still see my mothers pride
As I stand by her side.......beautiful description. Deep feeling. Nicely envisioned. Many thanks. (Report) Reply
