Break-In Poem by Haley Akin

Break-In

Disheveled is the room
Where the silence once stood still
Your presence on the floor
The door crushed beneath your will

Hollow, sound my words...
Breathing in the empty site
Shock bleeds from my face
As the emotion takes first bite

How dare you pierce my shield
Rupture my composure
You tossed his things aside
Infringe upon my closure

Left in disarray
I feel open and exposed
Chaos fills the void
With no safe place to go...
