Break Me Down Poem by Katheryn Foley

Break Me Down

The secret chapter to my book,
Hidden safely in this nook.
Where no eyes will see,
And no ears will hear,
The bleeding of my deepest fears.
Of hurt and pain and suffering,
A basket of luck if only someone would bring.
Keeping inside these feelings I hide,
Pray that I die, so I don't have to lie,
Of the scars on my chest, the ones that put me down to rest.
I only feel that I must tell someone, oh I must,
But I couldn't and I wouldn't,
Cuz suddenly it will be almost always about me,
But I'm only me, not the only one who bleeds,
So sickly, so slowly, and oh so boldly.
