Breaking A Mirror Poem by Ashley Meier

Breaking A Mirror

Rating: 5.0

Her reflection is everything she sees
everything she wants to be
but why, oh answer me this
why must others, with out a hitch
slam on her mirror of confidence
breaking it with just a bit of
force
no remorse
for the pain
even though there is no gain!
why must we bang down with our fists!
involving violence
hatred is now her only friend
she wants the whole world to end
freedom passes her by
as she rots in jail
never on bail
losing her life
because of the strife
that was caused by the breaking of a mirror,
cutting through her like a knife
ending all of her happy life
stopping all of the gain
bringing only all of the pain
the tears that fall like rain
as the razor blade
comes closer
confirming all of the lies
she doesn't want to hear the truth
her victims screams drown out the sense
stopping her from reminisce
bringing her to hurt some more
taking back what she thinks is hers
never stopping to hear a word
it plunges deep into her heart
ripping it to pieces apart
she's only doing what they did to her
in a different way
there's no less pain,
caused by the breaking of a mirror.
