Breath Of Heaven Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Breath Of Heaven

Breathe the air, our world's
last remaining free commodity
provides each little if any relief,
indeed its gasp an oddity
unconscious lays our thoughtless minds,
truth is such rarity
nutrients blessed by heavenly breath
equalize its disparity.

Think deep on the thought above,
water is priced by the gallon
widely here we all stand,
hooked by strife on greed's talon
trust in this, earth's air is key,
it's body nature's dragon
none has strength to hold this fear,
avarice masters the wagon.

Consumption bleeds our earth today;
it no more easily fetes us
humankind's created thirst for more
has reduced it to dust
mortal beings wanting immorality
yet more are born a wuss
bane of birth what could be worse
each wuss an ornery cuss!

Withhold your spite; these words I write
are so truly right
specific free market thought,
nature bought, mercy future plight
corruptive natures humans keep,
greed from chaos pundits incite
thoughts need return to Eden,
before Eve took awe to slight.

Imagine breathing pure earth's air
before the stress of sin
life filled lungs freely stretching,
bliss in health from deep within
without cost or speculative value,
each hint or lung full life begin
dust stirred of divine refinement,
that pile of him I am in!
