Breathing Is Not Living Poem by Ellie Collins

Breathing Is Not Living

This is when I need you
To tell me one sweet line
Lie to me just once, tell me
'It'll be fine'

Say I can't give up yet
For there's people that need me
Because without my fake smile
Where would they be?

They would lose hope
And need their own to lie
So isn't it just better
For only me to cry?

Instead I'll stand here breathing
With nothing left inside
Sadly, none will lie for me
I'm always set aside
