Bridget Kelly Poem by Susan Garfunkel

Bridget Kelly

Bridget Kelly was a sweet girl
She would spend her time with me
How we laughed and smiled
She lived her life fast and free
But one day she never showed up
I waited for her all day long
When I found out what happened
I decided to write down this song

Bridget Kelly, Why did you do it.
Was there so much strife
Why... Tell me why, did you
Girl, Why did you take your life!

I'm here without you now so alone
Your memories flow through me
These tears I cry over and over
Why did you let this all be
It's hard to just let you now go
I will never know the reason why
What went through your mind
These tears I'll forever cry

Bridget Kelly, Why did you do it.
Was there so much strife
Why... Tell me why, did you
Girl, Why did you take your life!
