Bright Red Rose Poem by Jonathan Majus

Bright Red Rose

Rating: 5.0

Walking back in my dreams
All the memory's we share
Taken back at the seams
What was good and fair

All the same should I expect
for you to love me the way I am

You say I'm not good enough
Calling me out on my bluff
All the things we've been through
And I'm still not enough

I try to explain my action
I guess it was just a distraction
Saying I'm the best guy for you
Was I ever any satisfaction

I was once what you wanted
Dare I even say flaunted
Now I'm ridiculed and taunted
Left feeling empty and haunted

I believed whatever path I chose
You would follow, but now who knows
After all this shows that I was never
The man with the bright red rose
