Broken Poem by India Wallace

Broken

Eyes gaze unseeingly
Through stands of blonde hair
Upon the sterile white walls
That sparkle with an unnatural sheen

A flash of emotion enters her expression
Her face glistens with shed tears
Before she withdraws back into the darkness of her mind
And the flash disappears

She raises an arm
And wipes away the black smudged tears
Leaving wet marks
On her already dirty frayed white sleeve

Just one shaking movement, thats all it takes
She releases the tension in her tightened muscles
Her shoulders sink
And arms fall limply to her side
Hitting the floor with a muffled thump

Blood slowly trickles off her wrist
The crimson liquid pooling around her hand
A steady flow of pain and hate
And the hopelessness inside her

A dropp of blood splashes softly
In a different place on the gleaming tiles
A dropp of blood in the snow
A dropp of blood standing alone

The tears start to fall
As the steady flow ceases
She thinks that doing this is helping
But its just shattering her into more pieces
