Broken Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Broken

Broken.
Beyond the breaking point.
To make an attempt to mend.
Or await with patience to heal,
Again.

Simple had been the process.
Heard to warn what had begun.
Simple had been the process.
So simple to leave many believing,
This event in the distance witnessed...
Left them immuned.
Unaffected.
By whatever it was,
To stay away or from it run.

Assaulted by ignorance.
And decades of it.
Leaving no one stunned.
But numbed.
Until accepted became its presence.

Broken.
To break like shattered glass unheard.
And ignored everywhere.
The moans and groans to condone,
Suffering.
Shown for what it is.
Yet unnerving no one to feel disturbed.
As they adopt and adapt to this as life.
A life lived by those unfortunate.

Unfortunate?
Unfortunate is this quick dismissal.
To see and step over it.
Ignored and pretend not to witness.
Unfortunate and lost,
Are the minds of the people.
Drawn to a materialistic way of life.
Evaluating to value impressions made.

Broken.
Beyond the breaking point.
To make an attempt to mend.
Or await with patience to heal,
Again.

From all has gone mental stability.
With a normalcy wanted wished to return.
But who is it that will decide,
Without it to offend anyone.
Where it was they discovered that normalcy.
And how was it kept hidden,
From a keeping it to appear...
Unaccompanied.
By the comfort of missed dysfunctions.
