Broken Poem by Shruti Goswami

Broken

There was no other way
To stop you
I swear
When your anger matched mine
Made you stop a while
Shaken you were
Shattered like a glass
But you do realize
You were just bruising yourself
With the broken shards
Of my shattered self.

Shattered I was
A long time ago
You ignored it
And shattered some more
All this while
I carried the pieces
Glued with tears
And bled galore
Only the broken parts
I did not show.

If you wish I would forever
Disappear
Like the shooting stars
Without a trace
But I love you so
I can't bear to go
I'll surely die
I won't fall from grace.
Not until you hold me tight
If that is death
Do bid me good bye
In a loving embrace.
