Broken Heart

There is no pain like the heartache
Stemming from a broken heart
There is no open heart surgery
That can mend it
No by-pass that will help
The flow of emotions to heal it
And no medicine that will dull the pain
To allow comfort
It is an ache that has no beginning
And no end
It touches every fiber of your being
Total desolation, anguish, despair,
That you know in your very soul,
Will never cease
In your solitude you allow the memories
His memory to enter -
That special look
That loving smile,
Those moments of bliss
Allow you some repose
Until you remember again,
He is gone
The more you allow the memories to seep in
The more you can cope with the loss
As time passes, you will seek those memories
And because of them,
You will accept that you were worthy of such love
You will accept that someone as wonderful as he
Could only share his life with someone
He deemed just as wonderful
Time heals the soul and mends the heart
When your thoughts concentrate on the memory
Of loving deeply and being loved in return.

delicately written but sraightforward enough to make you realize that yes, this is what heartache is like or close enough for sure (Report) Reply

Beholding me that all the pageants play,
Disguysing diversly my troubled wits.
