Broken Road Poem by Lauren Harris

Broken Road

Rating: 5.0

I used to live in darkness
Farthest from the light
I used to live in sorrow
I begged for the night
When death would take me
From this broken road
That I have followed for so long

For so long now
I have wandered
For so long now
I have been alone
I followed this road
Hoping to find
A place to call my own

And I found you
I found love
I found everything I could ever dream of
I dont know what I would be
Or what my life would hold
If I had not followed
This broken road
Beacause it lead me strait to you

My savior
The love of my life
I could live forever
In your arms tonight
Dont ever forsake me
And love me true
Because I want to spend the rest of my life
Just loving you

And I found you
I found love
I found everything I could ever dream of
I dont know what I would be
Or what my life would hold
If I had not followed
This broken road
Beacause it lead me strait to you

I can feel you love for me
Deep inside my soul
I will be content
As long as you are here for me to hold
I used to be foresaken
Torn into pieces
But now I am healing
Oh, I love this feeling

And I found you
I found love
I found everything I could ever dream of
I dont know what I would be
Or what my life would hold
If I had not followed
This broken road
Beacause it lead me strait to you

So with this last verse I say
That I love you...

(2006)
(Dedicated to Jack: A part of my heart will always be yours...)
