Broken Tower Poem by Ashley Wade

Broken Tower

Rating: 5.0

You were my tower.
Strong and true.
Standing over me, I knew I loved you.
You tower over me with a light that brightens my world.
One day there was a war.
Between me, you, and your girl so new.
We yelled and screamed....
Throwing stones at cracked windows.
My tower, my treasure, my love no more.
But this is just the beginning of our war...
Three days later, half-way dead.
You find me lying on the hospital bed.
When i woke and saw the tears you shed.
I held out my hand,
And you were my tower once again.
But the years go by, and i realize it's all just a game
One that you enjoy all the same.
The last time you left, I whispered....
'Never Again....'
You found me again five months later
Wanting to be my shining night in armor.
I said there is no again for us, no future to behold.
'Cause your just the remains of the old broken tower in my head....
