Broken Wings Poem by Diwakar Bhatt

Broken Wings

At times my heart sinks in tormenting despair deep,
My eyes have gone so dry that I am not able to weep.

Long miles between us created a rift of separation wide,
Destiny only ridiculed me rather than standing by my side.

Wings are broken making me a flightless bird grounded,
Sky has become a far fetched place where I once glided.

How can I reach you when time no more favors to meet,
The winding path is full of thorns piercing through feet.

May be you are waiting on the other side with eagerness,
But wounded feet make me tardy in a gloomy wilderness.

I must muster up courage to cross the desert of dejection,
Focus on the shore where my angel of love waits in person.

Now clinging I am to a straw of hope in your love immense,
All sorrows will melt in the heat of your love fiery and intense.
