Brokenhearted Poem by Smyrna Brewley

Brokenhearted

Rating: 4.8

Why did you break my heart, when you knew it was broken before?
You stepped into my life and like a fool I smiled and danced
I rolled out the red carpet welcome mat leading to my heart
And what did you do, but leave your muddy, soiled feet all over it
You left behind prints that couldn't be swept or deep cleaned away
Prints that will leave their marks til the end of time
But I am strong and will still search for love
Your footprints will serve to lead the right person to my heart

An insightful depiction of disappointment, deceit, and distress occasioned by exit of love, well articulated and nicely penned from the heart with conviction. A good portrayal of courageous heart going through heartbreak. Thanks for sharing Smyrna. Please read my poem THE OBSESSIVE AGONY OF LUST.

Powerful last lines. Do not search for love, just Enjoy life! Love will come to you.
