Brother And Sister Poem by Shalom Freedman

Brother And Sister

BROTHER AND SISTER

In the distance of time
And the distance of space
We grow apart from each other
We still love
We after all come from the same place
But our new loves our children and grandchildren
They are our real worlds
And we brother and sister
Close forever as all the years of our beginning
Live in spaces and worlds
The other does not know
Memory may unite us
And memory may suggest
How far from that first world we have come
We love each other still
But brother and sister
Each in the distance of our own worlds
Live farther and farther apart.
