Brother Billy Poem by cheryl davis miller

Brother Billy

I never send a card for your birthday
I'm not good at remembering dates.
It's not that I'm not thinking of you
it's just one of my many bad traits.

I think of you quite often brother
and usually get a smile on my face.
Recalling time we've shared on this earth
as we wandered all over the place.

In the city or out in the country
we had a time I think, don't you?
As we watched out for each other
that's what brothers and sisters do.

It seems there is never enough time
to sit on the porch and drink tea.
Recalling the good and the bad times
just my big brother Billy, and me.

Perhaps when we make it to heaven
we'll find a porch and a good cup of tea.
Then we'll visit with all of our loved ones
and have time; for all of eternity.
