Buffet Choices Poem by Luke Easter

Buffet Choices

Rating: 5.0

Panda in South Euclid (east) or Hong Kong in Brooklyn (west) ,
Which one is the farthest and of course which one is the best?
How about it really doesn’t matter since both have plenty to eat,
Regardless of your taste buds whether sour or super extra sweet.

There are various other choices in colors, houses, jobs, and cars,
Going on vacation we can stay close to home or travel very far,
You can miss work or church tomorrow by staying late at the bar,
Give praise to God or idolize a popular entertainer or sports star.

At 16 there is the option to dropout instead of staying in school,
BTW, the first pick almost assures you’ll be successful as a fool,
And that only makes you qualified for less than minimum wage,
Then again, that’s fine if there’s no desire to turn to the next page.

How will someone secure even a bad job not being able to read?
Unable to provide for yourself what kind of family can you feed?
I understand there are many with a higher education out of work,
But, they were laid off from employment, that’s why they’re hurt.

It’s impossible for all to secure Bill Gates or Bill Cosby wealth,
But what about our well being and the outlook of overall health?
Aside from the fact that some do inherit abnormalities and disease,
Most can be healthy eating what they need, not what they please.

Deuteronomy 30: 19, “I set before you the blessing and the curse, ”
Are any of your decisions made before or after placing God first?
Alcohol, cirrhosis of the liver & tobacco, lung cancer not to mention,
These and other bad choices will cause us to develop an affliction.

A lot more often than not per Shakespeare our, “to be or not to be, ”
Rest with the intelligent or unwise decisions made by you and me,
And although upon the failures most will look for others to blame,
Amazingly when facing exact circumstances again we do the same.

Every morning it is your choice of a sweet or sour attitude,
Never depend on anyone or situation to jump start your mood,
There's an old saying, 'If I were any better I would be twins, '
Sounds like a fantastic way to let every single day begin & end.

It might be Buddha, worship of animals, maybe a snake some say,
Church service early in the morning, afternoon or late in the day,
Even though it’s happening, there should not be a religious buffet,
No matter how many claim they are right, Jesus is the only way.
