Build No Shrine Poem by Danny Draper

Build No Shrine

Rating: 5.0

Build no shrine of wailing aching remorse in the shadows
To commemorate unspoken words in the sun,
Guard your indignation as righteous pedigree
Deep from shell at cavern's pit.
Let not reasons tendrils draw
Monochromatic drapes, spectrum denied.
Blossoms brown, scent falls mute.
Symmetry cut, sharp cold, cold blade,
Struck and twisted
Clearing through to untested notions,
Desolate spans past the garden wait
Seeds in ambush, vinegar toast,
Vacant days to union score.
Babies distress at donors breath
Despise and growl uneasily,
Parting image, absence heals,
Triumvirate harmony restored.
Sacred words as one in pair
Cobbled plans in pain laid waste,
But to each their unique sculptured day.
Spurned extended dealing hand
Wounds licked with distant unforgiveness.
Plump bud glows in dusty rose
Mandolins serenade, evening kiss.
One recalls vows in essence,
Friendship, love, loyalty and promises.

Danny this is beauty in abstract form, where all things are lopped culled ignored brushed beneath said rug... Is how I understand it. A moment of discontent, written with passion. Wonderful... Karen
