Bukowski's Holes Poem by Joshua Bowden

Bukowski's Holes

Bukowski's hole in the wall,
The literal one: I saw
There were probably many more
That I never saw
But I know He never fixed any

Unlike Walt Disney
With thousands of automatons
Fixing every hole
In that God-forsaken Land

The holes make life amusing
The holes are an empty pain
Fix them if you like
Or show them to the world

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I got the inspiration for this when I was watching a
documentary on Charles Bukowski. At one point he was being interviewed in his apartment standing in front of a gaping hole in the wall that exposed boards and pipes. He was totally nonchalant about it. I thought it was funny that out of an hour-long documentary that scene caught my attention. Also he mentioned Disney at some point, griped about him.
