Bureaucracy Poem by Alaa Elgadi

Bureaucracy

With a swivel chair,
Glasses and a glare.
With rude conversation
And phrases of temporization
With drawers' gluts,
An ashtray and butts.
With a bribe and a chequebook,
Coffee, a client and a coat on the hook.
With devouring seals,
Hands and illegal deals.
With tuxedos, meetings and sophistry,
With artificial position and life history.
The bureaucrat controls in the bureaucracy,
Attempting to be one of the aristocracy.
