By Chance Poem by DiAnne Douglass

By Chance

'By chance, did you miss me? '
By chance, I did.
But I didn't like chance,
So I missed you on purpose, too.
'Ah, so sweet!
You're so cute! '

'By chance, do you like me? '
By chance, I do.
But if I leave it to chance,
Who knows what will happen?
So I'll like you for real, too.
'Ah, so cute!
That is so sweet of you to say! '

'By chance, would you wish to see me now? '
By chance, I would.
If by chance, I saw you
It would be very lucky indeed.
But I'd like to see you before then,
So I'll come over and see you now.

'By chance, would you like a kiss from me? '
By chance, I would.
A kiss from you is always welcome
But I don't like to leave anything to chance
So I'll kiss you first.

'By chance, do you love me? '
By chance, I did.
But you left everything to chance
And never spoke of your feelings for me
Only asking of my feelings
And leaving me hanging

So I left it up to chance
And chance allowed my feelings to fade
So, by chance, I did love you
But now I'm not so sure
Before I decide, may I ask one thing?

By chance, did you miss me?
'By chance, I did.
And I miss you still
And that is not by chance.'
