By Ignorant People I Was Deceived

Rating: 4.0

When I was younger I'm going back the years
'Twas said by macho men real men don't shed tears
And to believe them bigger fool was I
As I now realize such talk based on a lie.

They said real men never weep and them I believed
By ignorant people I was deceived
But I was quite naive and too young to know
That tears of the soul at times overflow.

'Tis true about feelings that feelings run deep
The bravest of men have tears for to weep
I've seen real men weep and they are quite brave
For one they did love they wept at their grave.

That real men don't shed tears sounds like rubbish to me
For to grieve is quite human as most would agree
You are no less a man if your feelings you show
And why choke back the tears that yearn to flow.
