Bye! Bye! ! Bye! ! ! Ebola! ! ! Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Bye! Bye! ! Bye! ! ! Ebola! ! !

Stop the cry my country!
Smile for the new proclamation
You are free of the dreaded scourge
For all the concerted efforts
We even sacrificed a few lives
The past few months were both noisy and scary
Sawyer was the criminal culprit
The tourist that flew in with the virus
Adadevoh was the innocent martyr
A mother who saved a nation
Her sincere professionalism put all on the alert
So, it is not only football that unites here
And the fear of death can be wisdom
Heaven or Hell, no one wants to go yet
Local, state or federal, the governments stood as one
No parties, no regions and no tribes
Just a single country, Nigeria
Fighting against the spread of a scourge
And we all won the battle
Bye! Bye! ! Bye! ! ! Ebola! ! !
