Caesar Poem by DUW Robinson

Caesar

Rating: 2.7

A Frame of broken pictures
A wall of torn shadows
A body of cursed sores
Bleeding feet with no souls

If you say its ok, it is
In the morning I shall return underground
To a feast of blood and apples with the spirits
For I have so little love to go around

We were friends aboard the sea-flow
But you snap at my heels on land
All I did for you is now yellow
I saved ur feet, now you cut my hand

I travel alone in this trance
O what a thing to do
Its true I was with you in the devil's pangs
So why dont you love me so

I will creep beneath your sails
Cos you dont belong here
And whisper to de waters on which you sail
To bring you with me to the feast there

But that makes you special
I wish I was free
We'll be better
After revenge has met thee

You fancy being an angel
In a beautiful world of salt and sand
But tonight I ask this riddle
What will you do when I'm not around

Memories of my dying breath I curse
I tread a path I did not choose
Fill me up with noise and dust
And kiss me before I sleep, dear Brutus
