Cage Ii Poem by Liz Annson

Cage Ii

Rating: 5.0

Someday I may fall too.
Far away from you, I hope.
Too strong a reminder of past days,
Time that passed in a dreamy haze.
Happiness was there and then,
But never again.
Never again.
Now days pass in a dreadful faze,
A never-ending roller coaster.
Now I am older.
I look down on you,
Nevermore to feel the true sun and
Nevermore to be truly happy.
Nevermore to be herself,
Just a homeless streetwise whelp.
No house, no food, no car or water.
Just stripped bare to see what's under
Flesh and bone mean naught at all,
It's the soul that's most to fall.
