The Calico river runs ragged,
vermilion, purple and blue,
But the trees stay green,
and the sky stays blue;
They might add another colour,
and change the shade or mix,
But as colours continue to pour,
they'll make it even harder to fix;
Like an abstract picture,
that doesn't ring true,
But the trees stay green,
until autumn changes the hue;
A surreal amalgamation,
of complexion and hue,
When will the Calico river,
ever, ever run true.
