Can’t Do It Alone Poem by Alfred Ramos

Can’t Do It Alone

I can’t do it alone
My heart isn’t made of stone

If you see me walking down the street
My head hanging in defeat

Throw me a smile
And in a little while

My spirit will be set free
You can do that to me

I can’t do it alone
I don’t want to tiptoe into a danger zone

I may need a lift
To get me out of this rift

A stroke of kindness would be good
It won’t be misunderstood

If you see me holding up a sign high above
That says “will work for love”

Throw me a rope
That’s tied to some hope

And I’ll show you what I’m made of
My heart exposed hand in glove

If you see me in some sort of distress
Reach out to me
In any degree
And I can dig myself out of this mess

I can’t do it alone
Don’t know how many chances I’ve blown

I need a sense of security
I need your serenity

It’s what you bring to me
Said the flower to the bee

I can’t do it alone
I need a feeling closer to the bone

I can’t do it alone
I need more courage than I own
I can’t do it alone
You are the greatest love I‘ve ever known

A stirring call, we all feel this, but rarely say it when it matters. Good poem Al
