Can’t Stay

Staring at the sun I am here,
Wandering alone I need no one,
There is nothing, wanting something,
Standing on a mountain I begin to run,
Bathed in the light of the morning,
Wondering if there is anyone,
Who is out there who really does care,
To see the thing that I have become,

I am a wanderer, I am a nomad,
From place to place I move when I want,
It is the life, for me it’s right,
Never in this life will I just stop,
I forbid me, to be a casualty,
Society breeds death and nothing more,
I won’t get along, with you for very long,
I look at you and I give out a roar

Because I am,
I am a lion,
I am the jungle,
I am all that ever was to be,
And I am,
I am an urchin,
I am the waters,
I am all that ever fell to thee,

And now I am drowning

While Staring at the sun I’m here,
Wandering alone I need nothing,
There is no one, wanting some one,
Rolling down the mountain is the sea,
Swallowed by the whole of the sunset,
Sitting here now pondering,
Who am I and do I really care,
I am the beast that should not be,

Because I am,
I am a wolf,
I am the forest,
I am all that ever did not need,
And I am,
I am a gazelle,
I am the grassy plains,
I am all that ever had to feed,
And now I am burning,

I am a traveler, I am the rising sun,
And I will never hope to settle down,
Like the rising moon, I’ll be leaving soon,
Wandering from town to ghostly town,
I keep my own, warm company,
There is no one by my side,
And if I could, I still wouldn’t,
Stop living for me this is my life,

And I don’t expect you to join me,
And I don’t want you around,
And I don’t need anyone or anything,
Just let me be till I’m in the ground,
And I don’t want to reach the ages,
And I don’t need to be that way,
And I won’t remain in this cage,
I’ll go there but I’ll never stay.

This is a really good poem. It portrays a lot of emotion. It shows that it came straight from the heart. Very well written!
