Can You - Yes You - Forgive Yourself - After Abortion Without Consequences Poem by Dean du Preez

Can You - Yes You - Forgive Yourself - After Abortion Without Consequences

You are a mother dear, encompassed by fear,
For some reason you cannot see a future for your unborn its clear.
Is it a boy, is it a girl, this is your diamond, this is your pearl
Hold on, don't let go, have courage to let your baby inside you grow

Can you forgive yourself once you have removed a part of your soul
Will addiction replace that very large hole?
You have conceived so let it be,
Suppose it were you being formed in the womb of mystery.

There is always a way, there just is,
This is also where mystery is
Somehow somehow you will manage and soar
And wonder how you ever lived without a child once before.

When a child is born, instinct takes over
Unconditional love is what you will experience
Have you ever experienced unconditional love?
Have a child and know what love is.

No need to fear your age, status or money,
There is always a way when you become a mommy.
Speak to another mother, perhaps not even your own,
Ask them about the magic a child brings into your home.

Don't live your life on what others fear,
It is not them losing something so dear.
This is your gift its especially for you,
So before you make that decision ask...

....Am I being true, because when you lie to yourself,
Nobody suffers but you!

P.S. if you ever needed a reason to pray,
Perhaps today is that day :)
