Cancer Poem by Claude H Oliver II

Cancer

That little upstart
Unseen to my eye
Wayward mind and energy
Parasitic thief
Yet warrior on its own
To live its life
It must take another

But is this not life's way
Life feeding on life
Maintaining life
One must lessen for others to thrive
True - whether taker or giver
All must give at journey's end
Deferring to later our own demise
Through hastened demise of another

Dear Claude On Cancer. Very deeply insightful and profound. That littie thief simply wanted to live on someone else until both, joined in the inevitable struggle to survive, would one day part company, he to life extinction, and you to life extension. Dad
