Capitalist Democracy: An Oxymoron Poem by Saiom Shriver

Capitalist Democracy: An Oxymoron

Rating: 2.5

It is an oxymoron to say the US is a capitalist
democracy. Democracy, rule
by the people, can never have
hegemony in a system in which
money can control governments,
buy elections, send innocents
to war, distribute airwaves to war
profiteers and religious haters, corporations
have legal personhood.
One can't have 2 masters.
Where money rules, people cannot.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

all countries have a monetary system but not all countries give their citizens freedom of choice, speech and equality...without money how would you get something you need? no body buys votes in the U.S. voters aren't bribed.. and our ballots are registered and during elections deposited anonymously
