Caramel Poem by Nicola Thoner

Caramel

Rating: 4.5

There's a space in between love and reality
With
Buzzing lights
carousel twirls
Laughter mixing with delighted screams
Costumes
And
decadent trash food

Some people are water people,
Fire people
Earth
And there are little few
Who don't have an element at all
feeling most alive
At a night carnivale

Befriending
Mysterious playthings.
intrigued and seduced by
Disguises made to wow and soothe
No right
No wrong
Just colours

Styles bleeding into one
Such clarity
In a sticky mess of death
confusion
And cotton candy
Clarity of the absence of knowing

Like hell itself rose from the ground
And burned a world in the fairground grass
To delight and distort
For one night of fun
And
Escape from love
