Caring For An Absurdity Poem by Alessandra Liverani

Caring For An Absurdity

An absurdity, like most creatures, must be cared for
It must be housed, clothed, fed, made to feel secure
If not, this poor little thing will vanish into thin air
And we’re left with nothing but a single strand of hair

Smoking, dare I say it, is absurd
It’s the most absurd that I’ve ever heard
I’ve travelled far and I’ve travelled wide
I’ve travelled low and I’ve travelled high

And everywhere I turn my head
I see an absurdity that’s just been fed
That’s just been housed in a towering mansion
On a property with lots of room for expansion

If you think this poem is absurd
The most absurd that you’ve ever heard
Then all I ask is that you turn your head
And you’ll see one that’s just been fed
