Cat Nabbed Sonnet #27 Poem by Stephanie Eve Kane Arado

Cat Nabbed Sonnet #27

The day Puck was stolen the fierce winds blew
A witchy woman and her accomplice
Thought since you ventured near, you were their due
You greeted her treachery with a hiss
She shoved you in a box secured with tape
Her bright, opportunistic eyes squinting
Clearly plotting crime though she had no cape
Now in the dark box you mewed regretting
Your darting to places away from home
Dependence on the cares of a stranger
Your incessant need to wander and roam
Had ultimately put you in danger
I think of you often, lost little cat
Hoping you’re well cared for, happy and fat
