Catapulted Poem by David Harris

Catapulted

The telephone rings
and you wonder who it is.
Picking it up you say hello
and the voice answers,
“How are you? ”
Suddenly you are catapulted
to a different time and place
by a voice you used to know.
A conversation begins
and the years slip away.
It’s nice to hear from a friend
you used to know.
The reminiscing makes time slip by
and soon the conversation has ended
with a promise of talking again
and you feel comforted
in that thought
you two will speak again.
