Catch Me If You Can* Poem by Thistle Wargul

Catch Me If You Can*

Peaking through your fingers,
Stealing precious moments,
Watching every movement,
And never catching on!
Listening in through windows,
Tapping all the phone calls,
Reading every letter,
And you still don’t know!

Ready or not,
Here I come!
Hidden by the raging storm.
Try to find me,
You never will.
Your eyes are blind to me.
Catch me if you can,
In this game of hide and seek.
Deadly and dangerous what kids can do.
You’ll never find a trace of me,
Catch me if you can!

I do not exist
In all official business.
I’m to young, too old
To be innocent.
Only capable of causing harm,
And capable of wielding arms,
But really there to cry
For my once unspoilt life.

I see the things behind
Those iron bolted doors.
It’s me, the tainted one who’s
Existence is a sin.
Although there’s no one left.
To protect my future,
I won’t give up,
‘Cos I’ve got one trick left!

Ready or not,
Here I come!
Hidden by the raging storm.
Try to find me,
You never will.
Your eyes are blind to me.
Catch me if you can,
In this game of hide and seek.
Deadly and dangerous what kids can do.
You’ll never find a trace of me,
Catch me if you can!

Stabbing in the back,
Biting from behind,
Eating my insides up,
You’ll never tie me down!
Chaining up my freedom,
Tripping up my feet,
Cutting my defence out,
But you’ll never catch me!

Ready or not,
Here I come!
Hidden by the raging storm.
Try to find me,
You never will.
Your eyes are blind to me.
Catch me if you can,
In this game of hide and seek.
Deadly and dangerous what kids can do.
You’ll never find a trace of me,
Catch me if you can!

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!
YOU’LL NEVER CATCH ME!
