Catch My Breath Poem by Josh Burnett

Catch My Breath

I look into your deep dreams.
Every time my heart skips beats.
The way you say the things you do.
It makes me fall harder for you.
You think it's going to be easy,
But it's so hard for me to compare to you,
And I'll try not to let you down.

You don't even know that when I look at you.
It makes it hard for me to catch my breath,
And when You're not with me,
I pretend and to you I sing.

I can see angel wings when I'm looking at you.
I see that halo and I know you are the one,
And when I can't be with you I close my eyes,
And there's a picture there of you and I.
I don't want anyone else standing at my side.
The tears of joy I know I cannot hide,
And it doesn't matter how far I have to drive.
It's worth it just spending a day with you.
It's true.

You don't even know that when I look at you.
It makes it hard for me to catch my breath,
And when You're not with me,
I pretend and to you I sing.

When I sleep I can't help but to dream,
Of that painted picture of your smile,
And I just want to talk to you for the longest while.
I'm so glad that you walked into my life,
And now I've got to get you by my side.

You don't even know that when I look at you.
It makes it hard for me to catch my breath,
And when You're not with me,
I pretend and to you I sing.

I have never been so head over hills,
And the pain has finally started to heal.
I know what I feel and I know that it's real,
And your hand is what I want to steal,
And make all of your pain seal.

You don't even know that when I look at you.
It makes it hard for me to catch my breath,
And when You're not with me,
I pretend and to you I sing.
