Celestial Glory Poem by Tosin Abegunde

Celestial Glory

Three to the seventh decade of life
The promise to Celphas stands
The stone rejected keeps alive
Hope of the helpless prior strands.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'oluso'gba

The man trembled that toiled
Innocently to make an end meet
Nursing not the call and called
Navigating through forest in heat.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

Thus goes the tale of Agongue
The forest of esoteric and mytery
Founding to no flaw to Ajase
That will be permanet in history

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

The seat of seal stays at Imeko
With tentacles abroad and piece
Annexed at with purpose in Eleko
Now that we waned out of peace.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

Times will tell that power full day
That darkness illumined the globe
Only seven stars marked the say,
Parliaments of terrestrial sobbed!

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

Distinctly, He on the throne spoke
Just like the days by River Jordan
That the bird came, and One spoke
Descending as Luli of the modern.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

What a sorry sight for the blind
Who sees only through a purse
Blind to vision, mission 'nd unkind
Way of salvation to them is curse.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

Their policy negates the tenents
All for infrstructure of the stomach
Lithurgical they are in their intents
Faulting the template of patriach

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

The visioner goes but with a voice
Like the myth of Elisha and Jehu
Cuddled with raw facts and choice
That makes us sing Jori-ha-hi-hu.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

The way of peace you know not
Butterflying about in your regalia
With titles without a mantle, not
A single picture of evident idea.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

I will forever scream like Jeremiah
Even if taken as John the baptist
The vengenace I'll spell of messiah
In the land of the damn 'prohibist'

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

The judgement from the altar
Shall surely kick start for all to see
All these we profusely utter
Yet in billions we drown in sea!

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

O God of creation, we are not right
Direct our noble cause this I know
Would guide all our leaders right;
Help our youths the truth to know

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

One fold, one shepherd
'Vox pop, vox dei' a case of a mall
As world lament seems too hard
And the hand writing clear on wall

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

Solemn here with hearts contrite
Torn 'part in spirit, body and mind
Like the gas erupting from sprite
For a moment so fine and kind.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba

Save now O Lord we beseech thee
Let the king hear us when we call
This, from anguish makes us free
And the we shall rejoice in the call.

Ajara mi otito, baba mi l'olus'ogba
